Re: Z3 3.0i - from Sunny South Africa
Greetings from a fellow 3 litre Topaz Blue owner. I have the 3.0i Sport which I have left totally original as it left the factory. It's a 2002 model, so one of the very last ones! I know lots of people on the forum think silver is the best colour, but for me its got to be Topaz Blue, I think this was reserved for the M model until the Zeds last gasp in 2002 when they sanctioned it for the 3.0 model....could be wrong on that, no doubt somebody will put me right!!
Great photos by the way, here is one of mine in its natural habitat.... the Lake District....

Re: Z3 3.0i - from Sunny South Africa
Yup, you're wrong. Topaz was a colour option for all the facelift zeds. The ///M colour was Estoril, though a few non-///M cars got it as an Individual colour.magicmitch wrote:could be wrong on that, no doubt somebody will put me right!!

Agree with the latter though - the Lakes is definitely one of the zeds native habitats - what are the roads like in S.A.?
Cheers R.

Re: Z3 3.0i - from Sunny South Africa
Roads here are excellent, fair & *+^t...depending. Some of the motorways are excellent, some of the A roads are too...but then you get some that have potholes, or bits missing from the edges... Probably much like what you experience there.. The closer to the large cities, the worse it gets, mainly because of traffic volumes. Generally the roads are pretty good.
We have tolled motorways, which are brilliant but boring and you can drive 2000kms across the country without leaving the M/way...or you can take the A roads, and keep your eyes open for the odd pothole, wild animals, cyclists and pedestrians...

Re: Z3 3.0i - from Sunny South Africa
Thanks "magicmitch". Also like the stock look, but considering a bit of "low" soon.
Nice wheels, dont think we got that option here in SA. Roof looks good in Blue.
@Robert , There are a "few" spectacular driving roads in SA, however the bad certainly out weight the good. The coastal roads (CAPE TOWN and DURBAN) are enjoyable, just gotta watch out for the "pot holes". the worst part in residential areas are the "speed humps", and thats why i have not tinkered with the suspension as yet..
IIRC, one of the TOP GEAR episodes was recorded in Cape town.
