I'm always amazed at the number of Z's with the PAS reservoir placed directly above the alternator....I suppose the idea was to ensure alternator failure at some point...Mine is situated below the alternator so any dripping / leaking fluid will only pollute the planet...

Cheers for that, take it there was no fit up problems as it doesn't seem to be adjustable? Was it also cut out for the earth bolt?

Hi Gookha
I am awaiting my first Z3 put deposit on one this Friday and pick up next week ( can't wait!) it's a Z3 2.8 t99.
After watching your progress and mods got to say I'm well impressed and amazed just what are out there!
So now you have my juices going what would you recommend as a beginners basic/essential mod. I kind of think maybe upgrading the stereo with iPod attachments it has original blaupunkt business cd player installed. All works but I like my music!! Sub woofer? Maybe ?
Look forward to your progress

You're getting a good reaction - should have patented the idea and become an ebay millionaire.

They flash more red (with an orange tinge).... but I will risk it for now. I just used lens repair tape from the local pound shop!
Easy pull off if required....

Read higher up the page....
They do make a difference in a more rigid feel,
You can't tell that much when you fit it, but you can when you take it back off, I don't know how that works

Cruise control fitted yesterday,
Mine is the 2.8 M52tu engine, and all I needed was the control stalk and the interface.
20 minutes tops, and most of that was carefully cutting out the pre-marked hole for the stalk..
Worked straight away ....and total cost .....£83 ......£47 for the interface from BMW, and the stalk was an eBay purchase..
Only downside I can see is there is no indicator light to tell you it is in operation.
Now those average speed cameras won't be getting me.....

Well you learn something new everyday, I did not know that estoril tonneau covers existed, suits the car.
Edit: just a thought but have you been busy with the dye again?

Can I ask how you dyed the tonneau cover and what you used? Looks a very professional job. Tempted to have a go at a red one if it is not too difficult.

The same as I used on the seats, Scuffmaster,
about 7 thin coats, which is not as much product as it seems, covered the black tonneau completely, and it still folds without any signs of cracking etc.

Can fit and remove hardtop on my own now.
Total cost less than £30, including all the slings (and carabiners from Aldi)

Im seriously considering painting that bit on the bumper black as well, as I have to respray my bumper anyway.. However, I will go for a matt black finish, as I think all those splitters have this finish.
Could you post a picture directly from behind the car? That would be great!

Though I'd better do some updates:
Bought some AC Schnitzers for winter tyre use:
had them stripped. and powder coated in Gunmetal for a different look:
Then some distance shots:
But then to break up the dark I added some highlights:

Then eventually got around to fitting these:
after having them sprayed along with the front bumper (stonechip city)
and using a different take on the M gills as follows using plastidip:
The bumper had mesh fitted and now looks like this:
From a distance with summer wheels back on:
and some close ups:
Now I have this to fit when I can find time:
