Like the hamann wing!

Can you say something more about the alpina mainfold? Is it better than the one from 2.5?

Everyone claims that it is better (doesn't loose so much torque at low rpm as M50) and I had never seen someone telling that M50 is better. I can't compare by myself as I never had M50 manifold and I installed it at the same time as S52 cams and some things with cams are still not sorted - I believe the timing is wrong and it needs updated chiptune.

Cons - it's from aluminium (so it is heavier and gets hot faster than plastic), it is very expensive, it still needs adapter plate for fitting throttle body and it is higher so my strut brace doesn't fit anymore.

Paid for very rare Hamann side gills. Waiting for them to arrive safely. So I need just Hamann mirrors to have all possible Hamann exterior pieces for my car. If anyone knows where to get them - please pm me!

I have them, just need to be installed. The problem is that that requires cutting of car, so I am not sure if I really want to do that. I will install other hamann pieces and then I will decide.

Bought the sister for my black z3 roadster - the yellow one. US 2.8 1997 automatic. I plan to keep it mostly stock and use it as daily driver as it's condition is not as good as the black one.

You've got a great pair

Is it Dakar? The photo makes it look brighter but it may just be the contrast of the photo!

It's turning into a z-addiction.

I'd be tempted to buy another if I had somewhere to keep it, but I already have two roadsters.

Cheers R.

I hope it's Dakar. Originally it was silver grey, but one of previous owners changed the color. I don't have anything Dacar yellow to compare with. Probably in following image colour balance is more close to real life. Or it still looks too bright, but it's not near as bright as yellow new z4 (Atacama Yellow — B21).

It was cheap, nice colour combo, almost the same as the other z3 (only us version and automatic), so I already know most about it. Mechanically it is in quite good stock condition (apart from cooling system from 1.9), and visually I already have most parts I want to replace. Couldn't get anything better for that price.

It does look a little bright for Dakar, those wheels do suit the car though, what are they?

BMW Style 119 from e46. Unfortunately at least one wheel has a crack which was leaking air when I got it.

I'm interested to see the Hamann vents fitted; presumably they're not actually vented?

All you need now is the hardtop!! Get on it...!

There is a hole in them, but I think it is covered by hood inner part - similar as with standard vents. I plan to fit them this summer, probably will try them on unpainted in next month to see the fitment (they are 1/3 larger than standard vents), maybe will take some pics.

On this car I don't need hardtop - it's officially summer car now (when I bought the yellow car for winter, probably will use as daily driver now). I have the stock hardtop for other car, good enough. How is your hamann hardtop fitment? Any issues that you are trying to create a demand for it :D ?

Finished today Hamann fogs replicas for z3m bumper, probably will place soon on ebay auction to see how much they are really worth and if there is demand for these:

Your replica fogs look awesome, I hope you get a good return for them!

I haven't even offered up the roof yet, I'm currently half way through wiring the rear heated screen, then I'll sort the fitting kit. The body shop will mount the hardtop and sort paint, seals etc!

In what way are the side vents ~1/3 bigger? Side by side comparison photos would be interesting!

Top side goes higher over the hood. If you look at the back side in my pics, the screws are going in place where top side of standard vents fits. Don't have standard vents near me at the moment for comparison photos.

Paid a deposit for reasonably priced second hand Hamann hardtop. Not sure if I will use it much, as I like open top better, but it will be nice addition to other Hamann parts on car. Can't wait to see it in flesh on the car ;)

What is a reasonable price for a Hamann hardtop? Must be at least a thousand upwards :thumb: Never seen a second hand one come up you must have been quick to get it.

Yes, I was lucky to search for hamann parts on same day as it was posted for sale - what a coincidence. Never seen used one for sale in Europe too (In US they are selling only known hamann hardtop there: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/show ... and-BBS-rs ). We agreed on 1500 euros and almost third of that is delivery price from Germany, so I think that is worth it, as OEM hardtop is not much cheaper these days. Hope it will arrive safely and there will be no issues. It is missing fitting brackets, but that doesn't seem a big issue, as they look very simple and easy to recreate.

Sometimes I'm afraid to look at sale ads, as I often tend to find something I just can't pass by... ;)
