Limited Edition Roadster

Post by Jet »

I decided to change the name, as it makes more sense this way around. This months issue of the same car, 7 Pages long ........ excellent. Rare car and even rarer to get any literature on them. Lookout for the BMW Car Club ad also, we are moving up in the world.

And don't just read the article for free in WHSmiths, buy a copy you cheapskates :D

Looks like an RLE, but no centre console plaque? I thought they all came with one?

Yes Jet you are correct. This is not an RLE.

Really ? I would say it is a genuine one. May be center console has been stolen or damaged.
This seller is well know on the market to have very nice (but expensive) cars and he is writing that VIN can be check on Z1 chronicle book

I might be wrong but I understood that at the end of the limited production run of RLEs Alpina put a few cars together using surplus RLE parts they had in stock.
If the car for sale here is an RLE why it is not described as one?
Why does the seller not give the RLE number, or provide a photo of any part bearing the production number? e.g.. wheel centre cap.
Also the ad. suggests this is one of 16 cars. From memory Alpina produced only 66 individually numbered RLEs.
Reference to the VIN being listed to the Chronik means nothing. Every Z! is listed (VIN, colours, etc.) in the Chronik!
