"Classic Cars" June edition

Post by ChrisS »

Featured in Classic Cars current edition on p.127 is a Z1 with the registration AJZ 3566. It's for sale at Project Shop, on the RAF site where the Sunday scrambles are held. Is this car known to us? It's Dream Black and was imported from Germany in 1998. Current mileage is stated as 84,680 km. The article is reasonably well-informed on the pleasures and tribulations of living with a Z1. Asking price is £38,000. If I can finish my work reasonably quickly, I may just go over and have a look. Not that I want another Z1 by the way. One is quite enough, isn't it Ivor?

Another one going to auction even sooner - http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1989 ... -chili-red

And a side comment - according to howmanyleft.co.uk the number of Z1s in the UK (both registered and on SORN) is pretty stable over the last 8 years at roughly 110 cars. Annual figures averaged across the 4 quarters of each year from 2009-2016 are 115, 110, 107, 110, 111, 111, 115 and 112, respectively. So no mass exodus to the continent despite the weak sterling since last June.

Sold for 32,063 - curious to see the price the black one fetches as it seems to be more original. That said the lack of interior photos makes me curious as to what condition it's in.
