Roll Hoops

Post by johnz3 »

I know this one has been done to death over time but as a new member I wonder if there was any more recent information around.

I have a 1997 2.8 Z3. I like the look of rolls hoops and would value any info from a 1997 2.8 Z3 owner who has fixed themselves or had hoops fixed. Questions that come to mind are snagging on the power hood, ease of fitting, cost and supplier names etc etc.

Thanks

We ordered chrome roll hoops from e-bay for $125.00 . Then I went to my local BMW dealer & purchased the parts on the mz3.net list . The prices listed in the article are about 35% too low . Plus I needed an additional pair of base brackets that cost another $100.00 . Then my local mechanic installed the roll bars for $200.00 ( he used the mz3 instructions , the roll bars come with no instructions & when I e-mailed them they responded by saying ; seek a qualified mechanic ( I have a good one ! ) . We are happy with the end result . It took longer than expected .
