wow, now that already sounds like a big job.

I think you would need to purchase the heater parts (two per seat), then the dash controls, plus all the wiring. Lots of $$$$. Not sure how you would fit the heaters into the seats either.

Anyone else heard of this?

The most Z's have all wiring pre-fitted (except some early 96 1.9).
You'll just have to get the correct switches and the seats.

Run a check with your VIN code with the dealer if the cable harness is suitable for heated seats placement.

It is possible. But would be tricky

The wiring will already be present but you would need to buy:

The two switches
Relay
And the two seat heater elements.

You will need to remove the seat covers, the base is held on with wire clips and the backs can just be pulled up (sounds easier than it is!)

To be honest I think it would be cheaper to buy a pair of secondhand sports seats.

Are the sports seats heated as standard,I have just bought a nice pair of ebay Red and Black. The seller had bought them but never fitted to his car.
I took a chance £192 seems like a good price.

So it was you who got them maxman  I was watching these but the guy wouldn't confirm if they were heated or not. If they are I think you've got yourself a bargain as they looked immaculate to me. Well done!

Could I be cheeky and ask you to do some piccies of the install and put something in the knowledgebase

Had planned to go down and pick them up tomorrow, the seller has found out he can send them up to me for £40 by a carrier so saved a few notes there.I will put some info out when I install them. 8-)

As far as I'm aware all sports seats are heated.

I would of said £190 was a good price.

£190 a pair is a steal. I have been looking for mx 5 seats to put in my Triumph GT6 and they regularly fetch £400 a pair. Good luck fitting them.
Its a beautiful thing

Indeed. A steal. Good luck with their installantion. Keep us posted - no pun intended - on how you get on.

Wish I could get a hardtop at a steal.

I have to say I would not have thought of having heated seats if I had bought from new.

Now I think they are the best thing ever, especially when it is cold dry and sunny outside and I want the roof down. Warm clothes on , heater blasting out and lovely warm back and bottom ...........Oh YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Only joking, mate - you know I don't mean it! But you know how one thing can lead to another. Maybe it was all that mad cow disease that led to Barrying in the first place!
