Rear Brake Tapping

Post by BenZ3-2.0 »

OK my rear brakes were squeeling quite badly, I had thought it was likely the garage that fitted the pads had not copper greased the rears...I was correct.

In my hast to fix the problem I didnt remove the calliper and simply pulled it open enough to get some copper grease behind the contact points, this sorted the squeeling instantly.

Now for some reason when i brake I get one short tap from the rear passenger side brake. I have had a look and cant see anything obvious... I was thingking that maybe I have introduced air into the system or the pads have not reseated properly??? I know I should have removed the caliper to do it properly but simply didnt have the tme.

Any adivce would be much appreciated.

Ben.

Looks like they are snagging on the runners, your only option is to strip them down and give the calipers a good clean.
