cold air intake

Post by Southernboy »

I'd like comments from some of the boffs. 8-) I'm considering making up a carbon fibre scoop to fit into the space right at the bottom of the front spoiler. Idea is to make an elongated funnel shape leading to a 75mm pipe which will ultimately engage into the standard air filter box. My concern is that the faster the car moves, the greater the air pressure will become into the filterbox. Will this cause a problem for the MAF :?:
Or any other problems I may not be aware of

Hi Southernboy

I cant see a problem for the MAF occuring I may be wrong ? - but you need to consider the possibility of water ingress if you are likely to be driving in heavy rain with light floods ect with the air intake low to the ground - Water sucked into the engine does nasty things :shake: :shake:

However if you are never driving in the wet no problem 8-)
