ok guys which tyres do i fit on my new 17 inch alloys due

bought a set of speedline alloys adv to get


fronts 215/45x17 and rears 235/40x17 ( recommended )

235/40x17 all round ( bit twitchy )


ANY VIEWS????????????????

WHERE IS CHEAPEST PLACE TO GET TYRES???????

surprised at those recommended sizes. on the 2.8 with 17s the oem tyre size is 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear...

i was under the impression all z3's ran the same tyres sizes (diameter wise) so tyres off a 1.9 would fit a 2.8 etc..

remember wider rears promote understeer, though. depends whether you're bothered or not (e.g. i can't tell on mine, i haven't tried same size all round before though so no experience)

as i said above i don't think it matters mate

i think (in fact am pretty much 99.9% certain) that the 16s on a 1.9 have the same 225/50/16 (or is it 225/55/16? either way, same as 2.8) tyres.

so basically you want either 225/45/17 all round or if you want wider rears, 245/40/17 at the rear.

215/45/17 and 235/40/17 are not the right size but will probably not do much harm if you do go for them.

i just remembered someone who recently had some 17s from a 1.9 up for sale, they had 225/45/17 - so even more sure now that the 1.9 is the same as a 2.8.

The option on the 2.8s was for 225/45 x17 on the front and 245/40x 17 on the rear.
