too much current draw? like some kind of start-up surge, so it resets the cluster as the voltage drops or something?

Maybe one big capacitor the other side of a diode to supply the surge current??? - or one helluva inductor in series to slug the surge current.

In fact, the HID design must be a bit duff if it's causing such a problem = are the unit's 'E' marked - if not, they have not been tested and are illegal to fit in any case. I would refer to the manufacturer with the fault before trying any mods. If they are not 'E' marked, tested and need fiddling, get your money back.

If they are original equipment - then the dealer should sort them out, again there is a fault. Lights should not interfere with other systems in the car!!! I have Zenons on two cars, no problems at all.

Hi

Do the HIDs work if tyou just wire them to the battery straight rather than through the original car wiring?

If they do, I think you just need to wire them up via a direct feed from the battery, via a fuse (obviously) and a relay.

Should not be a problem if they work directly of fthe battery as this will prove they are actually ok and not faulty.

High Intensity Discharge - don't know much more than that except they are better/brighter than normal lights. But the title is fairly self explanatory :D

two sides = double current - maybe you could install a switch to switch one on at a time???

Consult the supplier!

Have you tried what I suggested and connected (them) directly to the battery?

If you do this with the ignition on (as per what you had when you get the problem) let us know what happens....

I would be surprised if a relay does not fix it, unless one is faulty...
