2nd car - Insurance - cheapest way

Have just acquired my 1st Z3, like it even more than I thought , hence , won't be driving it in bad weather etc !!
I now need to obtain 2nd smallish car for work/dirty jobs etc.
Any tips on best way to insure this , as I assume/am told that no claims only exists on 1 vehicle and I would need to start from scratch with other car.
I am currently with Tesco (£380 fully comp,full NCB) as you can only drive one car at a time , you would think a clean claims record would count for something , if only with your current company?

Jaycee for the 1st year with Norwich Union when I bought my 2.8 they gave my wife a discount equivalent almost to full NC on our Mondeo as she didn't have any NC so we then insured it in her name & let me transfer the full NC from the Mondeo to my 2.8.
