Removing Oem Hoops

Post by billz »

Just asking the question, Does anyone know How to remove the original roll hoops. So far i have found and removed the two torx screws beneath the blanking plate, but before i try to tap them out is there anything else i need to undo.
Thanks

I have a feeling that there is 3 torx bolts, 2 one side and then 1 the other side. They are accessed via the blanking plate (sounds like the one you have removed to get to the two bolts) and inside the top storage box there is a blanking plate either side that is removed allowing access to the other bolt.

Undo all three and they should then slide out, if not hit them gently with a mallet.

There indeed 3 Torx bolts. There are 2 behind each of the blanking plates on the seatbelt turrets and 1 behind the blanking plates inside the storage compartment. In the picture below you can see the exact positions of the bolts in the brackets without the trim in the way:

The storage box blanking plates are approximately triangular and slide upwards. If you have an HK subwoofer, then I am not sure how you get to the hoop brackets.

Yes chrome ones arrived and perspecs wind blocker arrived earlier in the week. Would of gone for the AC's but can not justify £500 for them.

Yes Bill, you will have to remove the sub to get to the 3 screw. I've done mine. You shouldn't need to use a mallet, mine just tapped out with my hand.
