Hi, I'm looking for some advice. I recently bought an M Roadster and have noticed that the electric windows are "stiff", i.e. they are very slow to move from fully up. I'm wondering if this is a common fault on the Z3? and maybe they need lubrication?
Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, what's the best way to resolve it?
sticky electric windows
As swamper says, it's easier than it looks, just a bit fiddly.
I think there are a few posts about it.
One that helped me:-

You don't need a special tool for removing the panels, just something thin and wide between the panel and door frame near the clips, a piece of cloth or thin plastic will protect the door paint.

Hi Roo
This seems to be a common issue from forums I have seen online. I acquired my Z3 this Spring and the driver's window was very stiff and seemed to be struggling. You can carefully remove the door card and inner lining with a little patience/care and no special tools - apart from torx on screw behind the side mirror control. I thoroughly greased the mechanism and found that silicone spray (not WD40) worked very well on the vertical side runners. This window now runs more smoothly than the passenger side which I previously thought worked fine!
