Installed a set of green LED strips in the foot wells, wired to the centre light so what the light does the foot well lights do. Came up a treat :)

Next thing will be to wire up the green LED strip to the plastic wind blocker so it glows around the edges and in the etched Z3 behind each headrest.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

What is that what you have your car looks handy for dismantling front and rear running gear.

I'm very interested in this, but it initially looks dangerous to me and unstable, however it maybe the dogs ickies for us budding DIY'ers...

Where/how does the load from the car transfer to the lift, erm, I guess im asking where its jacking points are and are they moveable, how they works etc?
and of course, how much and where from? :D

Not at all dangerous as it is deigned specifically for this job. It will lift 1.5t.
Then as with all lifting devices you put axle stands under the car as well before getting underneath. This also came with 6tonne axle stands that are extended height.
If you get the balance point just right, you can lift either end of the car up or balance it horizontally. there are two long rubber covered pads that fit under the sills
Cost about £400 from eBay.

Strut brace
Hi Stevov I brought the same strut brace :D. Put it on the car didnt seem to line up that easily, but after removing the brace and fitting the brackets to the strut towers(left them loose) still to a bit of jiggling to get the bolts through(replaced the bolts with M10 socket heads, washers and nyloc nuts cause the ones supplied didn't look very nice.
Anyway the point is when i but the bracket on the nearside strut tower it fouled on the rigid return pipe from the expansion bottle to the radiator :head: I pulled it free from all the clips to relieve the tension on it, now its to sort so i'm going to replace it with some silicone hose.
Anyone know if it has to be reinforced hose/how to remove factory hose clips ?
Apart from that it looks the biz :) . Now to sort all the bushes.
Did anyone else have similar problems when fitting a brace.

PS its a 1999 2.0l straight six and this Z3 thing has become obsessive

Hi, I bought that same style brace for my 2.0l and while I didn't fit it to the car (bought my m the next day) I still have the 2.0l 1999 6 cylinder and can see no reason why it wouldn't fit - maybe load a pic via photo bucket to show the issue?
Here come the girls.....

Yes, there I was scoffing my McDonalds in their car park when I saw a silver Zed come into the Shell garage next door. Despite doing a high mileage I rarely see other Zeds, so I went to have a peep.

Got to say G8JKA is one hell of a nice Zed. It was almost as dirty as mine, but it looked such a special car. Lots of nice mods, I would have like to have had longer for a chat but a queue was building up behind.

Not very often we see any zeds in Telford, especially one from the forum. I recognised your car straight away.

Thanks for the comments, I think it was actually filthier than yours but being silver it hides the dirt :) I would have parked up by yours and stayed a bit longer but had to get back to work unfortunately. May see you around again soon.

I got some fly eye tint for the headlights to see if it looks any good, a new passenger side mirror glass for my ///M mirrors as the heating element has given in on the old one.

Oh and some ///M side gills with the ///M badge already filled and smoother to keep all ///M police happy. Just need to get them sprayed.

The return pipe is 8mm bore at ethier end where it is rubber the rigid section is 8mm outside diameter so it fits inside the rubber pipe each end, will the silicone hose stretch?
I cut my factory pipe clips with a dremmel , took seconds with less chance of slipping.Had to reroute/ lengthen my pipe after fitting a strut brace the original rigid pipe section fouled on the brace and it looks like its quite brittle, used 8mm bore fuel pipe, works fine :) , was thinking about using slicone hose myself some nice blue :D

Ok so here's what I've got my Z in the last week:
Bosch spark plugs
Uprated fuel pump
fuel filter
induction kit
complete powerflex polybushing kit
BK racing RM coilovers
H&R anti roll bar kit
adjustable aluminium strut brace
twin deck rear wing
control arms and drop links
solid flywheel and paddle clutch kit
EBC yellow stuff pads all round
EBC dimpled and grooved discs all round
steel braided brake lines
40mm all aluminium radiator and electric fan
silicone coolant hoses
steering boss kit for aftermarket wheel
Corbeau GPRS racing seat with frame
6 point FIA harness
quick shift short throw shifter

Now need to decide on fluids (710 oils), steering wheel (need to check if flat or deep dished will fit), exhaust system from manifold back including de-cat (Tiptop exhausts Birmingham?)

A brand new and unused genuine BMW luggage rack with all fittings (still sealed) to put my genuine BMW hard shell suitcase on that I bought last year for £36 on Really chuffed. :D :D Unheard of to get a new and unused one (O.K I know they stopped making them some years ago) Also bought a UT 1/18th scale facelift Z3 model, unopened, to go with my other one. Virtually all models are of the pre facelift model so facelift ones are pretty rare.
