have you had the seats out and checked the wires?
Yes took both seats out all wires and plugs look ok but the passenger seat has a funny looking thing (black about the same size as an oxo cube)pluged into the box at the back of the seat , there is a plug hanging out of the seat bottom that looks like it should be pluged into box that i think goes to the seat mat

Ok... I've never seen that but it if you get the bit before weekend and are still struggling feel free to come round with it

A new number plate light bulb. Bosch pure light 10w

Any brighter white light emitting bulbs someone can recommend for the rear number plate for the Z3 ///M?

Booked Hamish into Bavarian Garages, Belfast, today for a new windscreen. £600. To be fitted on Wdnesday of next week.

Oh, also bought a new wheel brace while there - a much easier on the wallet price of £12.

Gear stick cap and two MSport embroidered patches to go over the non Z markings on the seat belt shoulder thingees.Beware if you buy a gear stick cap and find out if the three LED light will shine through. With mine they did not so disconnected them. No great problem with them not shining through but would have been nice.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Not much you can do about that. I don't mind being done by a car because he can use discretion. I passed the attitude test and I got 99mph when I was well over :D . A camera and it would have been bye-bye licence.

Ha ha.... Sounds like you were having fun too!!

Yeah, to be fair to him he was nice about it and used the 93 mph reading that the camera system in his car had averaged me at... Apparently he was debating whether to do anything as my driving was fine and considerate apparently.... But then I "took off".... He did say that he understood that it had suddenly become an empty 4 lane road but when he had to do 110 to catch me it made his mind up... I was only in the 2.0l as well.....

Inspection 2 and an MOT.
Not cheap no but it sailed through MOT with no advisories and they did not uncover any nasties whilst changing all the fluids and adjusting the tappets etc so it could have been much worse.

Mine was in May 2000 - I can't have been speeding since then, as my licence is clean <searches in vain for Pinocchio smilies :P >.

I love the old "You must have been speeding, because I had to do 110 to catch you". If he'd said that to me, my laughter would have got me banned  .

That's a major project. Was it yours to start with?

Personally, I would touch anything with that needed any serious structural welding or straightening of the shell unless it was for a track only.

MOT today £30 with one advisory, weep from power steering hose, low pressure one from reservoir to pump.
Part No 32411092982, just over £32.

Ordered new hose from Stealer, looks like the old one is leaking from age and a split under the crimped hose clamp, will replace using wider jubilee clips.

Very happy thanks. The guy seemed very knowledgeable, he spent some time yesterday cutting out the pieces on a "CNC" machine and neatly sewed it all together. Today he spent 3 to 3.5 hours fitting it and the whole lot only cost £325. :) We chose navy blue (on the silver car) as it was a bit different. Still well worth the 300 mile round trip with heavy rain on the M25 this morning and heavy Saturday London traffic on the return :D

The two little o-rings that never come with the oil filter and no one ever changes but will hopefully stop it taking a couple of seconds for the oil pressure to build while it refills the filter with oil after start up. £4.51 including postage from a franchised BMW dealer (can't really call them a stealer at that price and it's not worth the time and trouble trying to source the parts elsewhere!)

expensive month:
- two new rear tyres
- 4 x disks
- 4 x pads
- 4 x shocks
- 4 x springs
- new radiator
- 1 x new link arm thingy
but the handling is very much tauter now - was still on the original shocks & springs at 125,000 miles!
most of that was by choice - not absolutely required - one weeping shock & an advisory on one tyre on the MOT
pretty much only mechanical costs in 3 years, and mostly happy to see them as consumables at 125,000
