Mileage ?

Post by j4jack »

Hi, I've got a Z3 3.0i Sport and the mileage is creeping up - currently 124,000, but (knock on wood) no real issues.
I'm wondering what mileage people have got out of this cracking car !!

Brilliant reading those high mileages on the 1.9's - 65k on mine so a long way to go to catch them up! Great!!

107.000 miles on my 2000 2.0.

...and 31,000 of that was since last August!

Can anyone beat that for an annual mileage in their Z?

If the motor doesn't require topping up with oil...it's in good condition...ie. it's mechanical parts in the cylinder head and the pistons / rings etc are all just fine...it is however important to use the correct spec oils / lubricants when servicing..this will ensure the continued stability of your engine/gearbox/diff etc...I have heard of a guy here in Johannesburg with a 2.8 and he has just topped 500,000 kms and the motor is still as sweet as ever. It's all about maintenance and regular servicing...

1998 2.8 65000 miles, so just about run in!
2 years ago had a 328ci coupe E46 with similar engine which had done almost 160k miles and sweet as a nut.
Before I moved to Spain -2 years ago I had a 728i E32 with 180k and ran like new!
