Holland here I come

Post by John1950 »

Well everyone.

I'm sure you've all forgotten me already, no no, I'm still hanging on, by the skin of teeth.

I sold my 2.8 a couple of months ago as part of our moving abroad plan. Now, Janet and I will be in the Chunnel on Tuesday. Meanwhile, I so miss my Zed that I've been looking at the big online marketplace for the Dutch and I tell you what, Zed's cost quite a bit more over there so once settled I think I might look for a left hooker back over here (it all depends on the matriculation and technical changes costs)

Have a look at these:

http://www.marktplaats.nl/z.html?query= ... distance=0

Right, I'll drop by again once we're in over there....

By the way, anyone missing me and my didactic style? Have standards begun to wane since I left?

No. We had to get ours from the auction in Japan to be able to afford a LHD. The price difference between the uk and Europe for z3s mean that there is money to be made buying LHD and reselling on the continent. That is why LHD are high priced in the uk.. If you can find one.

True, they drive on the left, but there is some odd culture thing there. They think driving a LHD car is cool, so there are quite a few about.

Can't you just use a RHD over there?

Well, I would if I could - I'm salivating but 'madam' has her heart set on a Hymer B644 so that succulent red coupe will have to wait.
(A Hymer B644! - she's making me old before my time!!! :head: )

Genuine question - why are prices so high for LHD models in Europe?? One of the examples John supplied for a 1999 2.8 is 10,500 Euros :shrug

You could always buy a Z1.....

Z3 2.8 Progress Journal (Mine)
Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

But it's RHD!

Hymer B644

You just put a link up to a beautiful (massive) house, why do you need a little one on wheels too?

To change the subject (drastically) I spotted this online, I don't suppose you watched it live?

It makes the BBC look wonderful don't you think?
