ACS hoops fitted and a little polish

Post by Woody1000 »

After acquiring a set of ACS hoops from a member of the .Org site I thought I best get them fitted and give the car a spring clean !

Took a while to get them in as they are an extremely snug fit but with the help of a wooden mallet they went it

Also fitted a bespoke wind deflector courtesy of ('_')Z3 on here for making and sending it down (fits perfectly)

Then finally 4hrs polishing and waxing the car to a mirror shine

Oh and a little cruising before it got dark, now that's my kind of Sunday !!

Fitted mine yesterday, expecting to have to use a bit of force, but they popped straight in. Only had to give a little tap on one side to even them up.

Your car is looking good!

Looking good! I also bought ACS roll hoops with help this forum member, but before installing I want to wrap my custom subwoofer box behind the seats in leather so that I don't have to reinstall roll hoops several times to reduce the risk of damaging them.

Mine needed some brute force to get them level :head:

It's funny that the last owner of your car really wanted a set and could not source them, even the original manufacturer let him down after a set were ordered

They are rare, only recently a few (I had seen maybe 3 or 4 different offers) popped for sale :) And most of them were sold almost instantly.

I had been looking out for over a year, with no luck, then a set became available last Nov (ish). Bought them, took my original hoops out (seller wanted to swap + cash) and then the seller went quiet. No response from him for a few weeks and then eventually he admitted that he had sold them with the car. Thought my chance had gone and then a few weeks ago another set came up on here, so dived in and bought them. Had issues with delivery (successful in the end) and whilst that is going on, low and behold another set come up on z3coupe - was tempted to buy them as well just in case the second set never arrived!

So yes, nothing for over a year and then 3 sets within a couple of months! At least it means 3 happy owners :squeeze:

Now lets hope that no one will sell some more, otherwise they start loosing their exclusivity :D
