Halfords Mudflaps

Post by gookah »

Well after searching for some genuine BMW front mudflaps, I have been told they are no longer available.

So off to Halfords, and £9.99 later I fitted these "Universal" versions:

with a bit of modification by cutting the lower section off:

and attaching the 4 fixing clips:

They now look like this:

They mould pretty well to the shape of the car, cover the soon to be repaired rusty front sill edge, and generate a saving of £25 over the original BMW type, (that's if you can find any...)
:D

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

They look like a great alternative to the OEM item :D I've been trying to locate a genuine set but have drawn a blank so these look like a good option. Do you have the Halfords part number?

They look a good fit especially as I imagine they are universal.

The only possible improvement is to fit some double sided tape where the flap meets the body and inner liners to reduce any water/mud getting behind the mudflap.
As you are going to repaint the sills that could be done then.
Good find.

Gookah, would you be so kind as to take a pic from the side so I can see them from a bit further away? I've wanted to put some on for a while now but be nice to see them in situ first. :)

Cheers

Sorry but phone photo is not the best.
They look not much different to the genuine ones on my wife's Z3... :D

Cant see any reason they wouldn't work on the rear either.
