What do you think about a 2-tone Z3?

Finding a hardtop in good nick can be difficult as there are very few around. One in the colour you need will be even harder!
And the fitting kit even worse! How about grabbing any colour and fitting that, once you've got your hands on the fitting kit? Not seen any 2-tone Z3s yet!

My neighbour has a Audi TT in black with a silver hardtop. Looks fine.

All Z3's are 2 tone except the black ones..... they all have a Black soft top and a different colour body...even the red and blue soft tops aren't a perfect match...

You could fit the hardtop in whatever colour you find, and see how it looks.
Then if you don't like it, or you notice people snorting with laughter as you drive past, just get the hardtop resprayed in body colour, or black.

Good point Barry, most of us are two tone! If it were me, I'd source a good condition HT and fitting kit which is number one priority, then find a good sprayer and get it sprayed exactly how you what it, two...three...four tone, afterall its your baby!

Re: What do you think about a 2-tone Z3?
Hi carbloke and to you all. Yes,I nearly resorted to this notion until I found a match to my car via a forum member ( lightning) that another forum member Kevin ( kjayf) had a Topaz Blue Hardtop complete with all fittings, trolley and cover and also with the benefit of the rear screen blanket. Many many thanks again to Kevin.
I was becoming really quite abrupt with people on E'bay that had Hardtops for sale but had sold their cars with the fittings still in place or advertise complete with fittings and indeed they were incomplete.
There were/are clearly many that have bought hardtops without fittings thinking that they were as readily available as a loaf of bread!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then attempted to 'off-load' them.
I had seriously considered either a Silver one or buying any colour and fitting a bespoke and tailored Vinyl Top Cover cover over the glass fibre (it was all part of my trade before retiring in 2007. That way the car would look much like it had a smoother finished regular hood.

Happiness is a well kept Z3 and preferably running with the hood down - weather permitting.

Hopefully, they have not seen it yet, I'll not get it sorted for Silverstone though, that was the whole point in getting it done!Davejue1 wrote:I assume the bodyshop in question is correcting the problem FOC??
