Rear shocks change

Post by Alan W »

I'm shortly going to fit some new rear shocks, am I guessing right that its probably worthwhile changing the top mounts at the same time? And are the top mounts main dealer only or are they available as a pattern part? If so are any of the pattern makes significantly better than others?

OEM ones are rubbish. Get Meyle HD ones - I paid about £20 for mine.

Top mounts can be obtained from the original manufacturer.

A bit of searching will reveal the answer  .

Meyle make really good kit. They also do the drive belts as well as the belt tensioners amongst other bits like steering / wishbone bushes, exhaust mounting rubber parts etc etc... (I've used them extensively over the years - price wise there's no comparison)..
