Pipercross Air Induction unit
Pipercross Air Induction unit
Fitted the cone type unit and I now get a very brief 'shrill' type noise when I accellerate. Also get it when stationary and rev the car. Dont recall any noise from when the standard unit was fitted. I think it happens in any gear but as engine noise increases cannot hear for sure. Am going to switch the units to isolate if it is the new unit but anyone any ideas please before I do that. Thanks
Re: Pipercross Air Induction unit
Most people are fitting aftermarket filters just because of that cool noise.
Re: Pipercross Air Induction unit
I certainly get a more throaty noise but was not aware that I might get the 'shrill'. A bit worried about it although as I say only there fore a second.

..........are you on twitter - might be a "TWEET"???
Check the connections...sounds as though there's a small gap somewhere drawing air through and possibly making the noise... may even be the filter seating isn't 100% onto it's base ?

I will check the connections. Thanks.

Sounds like an air leak, especially if it does it under no load. Check the rubber bellows for cracks or splits.
