My z3 has seats that look just like those in mine they are leather if you can cut a very small piece off then pull it apart length wise if you see fibers its leather (leather is made up of small fibers closely compressed)if not its plastic, the other trick is to put flame near it leather will not melt

Presumably then you have sport seats and not ///M seats if your leather has polka dots. But agree with the e45
All leather is light brown after it has been tanned no matter what colour the cow was, after tanning and skimmed the the correct thickness, its put into what looks like a big washing machine with dye( thats the old way) now they either spray or use a sponge to apply the dye
