Hi Guys just had to take off both sills glad they were bolted on, however they are completely rusted out bmw want £185+vat for each one!!!!!!!!!!! surely someone out there does replacements, there are none available in ebay and the only place I can find is in the USA.

Contact Andy (SpursFanInACoupe) and see if he has any good used ones.

Did you look under "Z3 breaking" on ebay, seems to be quite a few.

Thanks guys I have sent off a couple of emails so waiting for replies, just a thought the softop is leaking would that have contributed to them rotting out?

No i doubt it, water gets trapped behind the plastic liner & also mud over the years
which stays damp & rots them out. I'm just cleaning mine out now but luckily its
just surface rust inside plus plenty of damp mud.
Beware that on some models there is some sensors under the carpets that will
get ruined if they get wet.

Bear in mind the sills are different for the narrow and wide body cars. Your profile says you have a 1.9 so I'm assuming it's a pre-facelift narrow-body car. You'll need sill from the same type of car.

Just to bring you up to date I sourced a pair of sills from a salvage yard in reasonable condition which are now fitted
