Windscreen Wiper noise
Windscreen Wiper noise
When the wipers are wiping, at the very start of the return wipe, there is quite a loud click from the passenger side wiper. I thought it might be the blade running over the edge of the screen surround, so I trimmed the rubber to clear, but it did not help. It happens whether rain is heavy or light. I am beginning to suspect wear in the linkage. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Check that one of the wiper arms is not rubbing on the underside of the bonnet......... seems to be a common fault as our 2.8 did it and the wife's new 3.0 does exactly the same thing, a deft bit of bending usually does the trick!

Mine was exactly the same - just adjust the bolts on the bonnet arms to lift the bonnet a couple of mmJulie Z3 wrote:Check that one of the wiper arms is not rubbing on the underside of the bonnet......... seems to be a common fault as our 2.8 did it and the wife's new 3.0 does exactly the same thing, a deft bit of bending usually does the trick!

I bent the wiper arm, it was easier than messing with the shut lines.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
