Rear Window Defrost/demist

Post by 4wheels »

Soo...this might just be a trait of the Z3 being a softtop... but
is the button in the middle of the seats that looks like a demist button, actually supposed to demist the window?
i havent looked very closely into what it does or should do......obviously there isnt the normal heater element in the window like glass windowed cars.

Sounds like you might have a hardtop fitting kit on your car. The demist button is for the heating element in the glass window in the hardtop. It isn't normally fitted unless the car has had a hardtop at some point.

The pain of trying to demist the plastic rear window using the centre heater vents is one of the main reasons I have a hardtop for mine. It just went back on the car today and I used the HRW almost immediately :)

I found out today that having a permanent wind deflector means that the heater-to-clear trick doesn't work. Anyway...
