Hi everyone
I have a friend who bought new coilovers for his e36 sedan and sell his used shocks and lowering springs.
Does anyone know if these will fit on my 1.8 z3?
Many thanks.

Re: Shocks and springs
Z3 has E36 based front end and E30 based rear so doubt if they will fit.

Re: Shocks and springs
You need to check on realoem for compatibility. But when I checked, the front struts at least are unique to the Z3.
2001 Z3 2.2 Topaz Blue (Trudy) - Keeper rebuilt from a write-off
2002 Z3 2.2 Titan Silver (Cookies) - Keeper rebuilt having been bought with a seized engine
2002 Z3 3.0 Sapphire Black (Peanut) - Keeper awaiting rebuilding having been bought as an abandoned project
Plus Willy, Kodak & Maycee - All 2.2 Sport projects. Yes, 6 is a lot of Z3s
Always happy to try and help with spares
Re: Shocks and springs
The fronts will fit but it's any guess where the car will sit as the weight might be different.
The rear springs, even though they may be lowering springs for the E36, will probably raise the rear as the E36 tends to rung bigger springs. The rear dampers too will probably be too long. There's not really any essential difference between the type of spring (barrel shapes springs) and damper (regular eyelet at the bottom and threaded rod to top mount) used on the E30 and E36, just the suspension design and arms themselves. But as said the E36 setup uses longer body struts and springs.
Lowering springs for the z3 are cheap so may as well get a set and some uprated dampers.
