Petrol filler cap

Post by saturdaygig »

Well questions don't come much more basic than this. My filler cap was leaking, and my mot guy changed it for a generic that's very hard to get off. My local motor factor guy says any generic is likely to be the same, go to BMW. Is he right, or is there an ebay type one that will do the job. Thanks.

Hi

I assume we are talking about a Z3 petrol cap??

If so; I obtained from BMW Pt No B16.11.6.756.771, the complete filler cap and rubber lead that normally perishes over time.......£21.90 back in 2015

Personally, I would always go with OEM on an item like this.

Good Luck

It's the flat rubber washer that goes - I managed to buy one of the last BMW stock (rubber washer only) in the UK around 2011. As above, you probably need to buy the complete cap now. :(
