Where's the easiest point to connect for an ignition controlled accessory? (Dash Cam)

Depending on your definition of 'easy' if you remove the glovebox there is loads of wiring to tap into. I'm actually doing the same exercise, but wiring in an auto-dimming rear view mirror from a Z4. I found this general info from a member of another forum but haven't had the chance to validate it:

Green is hot in Run and Start
Green, White stripe is Run only
Black Green stripe is Start
Violet is Start, Run, and Accessory
Red, White stripe is +12v relay switched by the ECM
White, violet strip is dashboard light 0 to +12v (headlight switch dimmer)
Brown is always ground
Brown with a stripe is a switched or ohm modified ground.
(Thanks to Dan "PbFut" Rose for the info)

The feed for the stereo is a good one, because it's easily accesible by pulling the stereo, but you still need to feed the wiring under one side of the dash.

Any idea what colour the live for the stereo is and can you piggy back it?
Its not like the old spade terminals, so much easier to tap in to.

Not offhand. Do you have the wiring diagrams for the car? If not, you can download one here, which will give you a steer on wiring colours:

The ISO wiring harness for aftermarket radios has a spare ignition fed wire which you can use for satnav or cameras.

The Wiring diagram says the ignition feed to the radio is Violet with black stripe. There should also be a spare connector in the lh footwell green with black stripe and a white end which is for accessories. The is fo US cars so may be in the rh footwell for uk cars
