Sump gasket

Post by bowei001 »

I'm about to replace my front suspension & crossmember and thought it would be a good idea to drop the sump, give it a clean out and check the oil pump drive whilst I was down there. I've bought a new (genuine) sump gasket and it seems to have a thin rubber seal bonded onto it. I'm assuming that this gasket goes up dry, is this correct? (I'm used to MGA paper gaskets that go up with a thin film of sealer.)
Thanks,
Ian
