Head light switch fault

Post by Patty »

I have a fault related to the dual operation of the head light switch. The switch works ok but the function to adjust the light level of the dash board is intermittent and will not now achieve full illumination.
Is it possible to remove the module which the switch is mounted in to get at the potentiometer to test it.

How to remove is in the knowledge base here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=35763

The photographs don't show because of the third party sharing issue with photobucket.

When I stripped that dash out of mine to have the leather repaired, I found a fine white powder  inside the dash below the headlight switch. I suspect this was the Bakelite in the switch breaking down. I also ended up replacing the switch. I did try disassembling it, but I just made things worse.
