Is Estoril Blue yesterdays colour ?

Post by Bieldside »

Most //M cars are Estoril Blue , but is is a dated colour

Seems that black has become the most wanted colour for coupes - is that true for the roadster too?

Silver is timeless though. Black too. My silver M has a red roof which makes it more unusual. Not seen another Z the same yet.

British racing green early jags seem to hold their price or appreciate in fact, without a stigma of 'being dated'. I'm sure Estoril MR's & MC's will hold their price fine in the long run, especially as it's a classic ///M colour.

I think some colours have their day - don't think Estoril's one of them.

This will start a riot but I think silver has been done to death.

Also popularity apart, even when just waxed they don't look as good as a dark metallic. Flipside is dark metallics are dirt magnets.

Just my opinion, don't mean to offend if you have silver.

I think that if a colour suits a particular vehicle then it will be timeless.

I think if a particular color appeals to you it is timeless (to you)

I don't think its a dated colour but it seems to tipify late 90s BMW M-cars.

For current cars it seems to be replaced by a much darker blue (interlagos?)

Its only that I am tempted to buy a very low mileage Estoril Blue Roadster but not sure that its worth paying over £22000 for that colour

I tend to think that in years to come it will be a less popular colour - or a even a classic colour, maybe . Who knows ......

If only the low mileage car was black with black/red!
