Exhausts

Post by dooby »

Im looking to get abit of a better tone from the rear end, but im struggling to find aftermarket exhausts.
Has anybody fitted just a decat to the standard system?
I had a system on my old car from a local company called Haywood &
Scott but recon it would be ££££ to get one made fo the Z.

H&S have just released one for the Z4M, back boxes might be very similar.

I think they have made some for the Z3M (Z4M back boxes are very different in shape and length).

oh, that's a shame - thought it might have just been a couple of mounting points or something.

I've heard great things about what they have done for the Z4M, not cheap but apparently they have found a good balance between annoying motorway drone and a fruity note when flooring it. If they did get around to doing one I think I would be interested in a group buy.

Well, after hearing that the S54 ///MZ4 sound has been well and truly sorted by H&S, RED has decided to become that very guinea pig for the ///MZ3....
She's booked in at H&S in a couple of weeks time to have a lovely shiny new set of back boxes custom made and fitted. She'll be in for a week to give them time to design, manufacture and fit.

If there's interest in a ///MZ3 group buy, let me know very soon and I'll have a chat with the relevant people.

The ///MZ3 system is slightly cheaper than the ///MZ4 system coz there's an extra pipe required on the latter. The estimated cost is approximately £650 plus VAT for the two boxes and fitting. Exact final price will be confirmed after they've done their assessment.

I believe there is little difference between S50 and S54.

Let me know....

Yea, shouldn't be any difference in price S50 vs S54 as they're the same systems.

I only thought they'd made some already as I know somebody with a Z3M who said they were going for a H&S system.

The only system acknowledged to give good gains are the Supersprints though (but of course as H&S are a bit of an uknown they could too). I can say that I wouldn't normally think that an exhaust would make much difference but it genuinely does seem to zip to the redline more eagerly.

I have ProSpeed boxes fitted and the only difference that I can notice is the ability to set off car alarms :P

Here's a Supersprint system which I'm selling; first pic is with one fitted for comparison with the standard pipes!

Twin 80mm round, "factory sport" sound so has a nice note, quiet idle but sounds great on full throttle and NO motorway cruise drone. Almost new, "low mileage" still with labels on boxes. Also gives genuine power increase according to Z3M/M3 specialists Evolve which is unusual with a "bolt on" exhaust change. It's also half the weight of the standard system; could be around 10-15kg saving they feel that much lighter.

RRP £800+. Looking for 450ono
