Rear tracking on an M///

Post by Robin »

My rear tracking is out. Tows out rather than in.
The chap at the tracking centre said Z3 rears can't be adjusted.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
If so is there a work around?

No they can't.
You can get eccentric bushes but you don't get much adjustment.
That or have the rear axle modded with slotted washers which will allow toe or camber and toe correction.

How much toe out Robin? What's the tyre wear like?

A little could just be a worn trailing arm bush, but a lot might indicate a bent trailing arm. They are a 'sacrificial part' in case of a bang.

Some of the kits can be found here

Ireland Engineering

or Here

Trailing Arm Camber Bushes

Option 2 is an easier fit than Option 1 but not sure if the kits have the same amount of adjustment.

Many thanks Brian. I'll order a set of the Ireland Engineering slotted brackets as It needs quite a bit of adjustment.

"Tows?"
Does it rhyme with 'cows?'
