BostonGreenZ3 ,

They do have a green Z ///M on there but not entirely sure it is Boston as the picture is crap.

Will send them an email and find out. Did you get yours from there, did it take long to arrive and is it fairly decent quality?

No, I didnt get mine from there.

My ///M model is made by Burago (1/18 scale) and the quality and attention to detail is really first class - bonnet, boot and doors open and even the steering works  also has Michelins

My Z3 model is made by Matchbox

When I was looking for mine, I looked in model shops, toy shops and even TK-Maxx which is where I bought the ///M

It looks like Evergreen colour on the website link but defo ask if they do other colours - if not, get the spray gun out

Burago are good, will have to hunt and see whether they do one in Boston.

Problem buying from the US is that the model will be a left hooker

I bought both of mine from the UK and they are left hookers - I think most of them will be actually........

I will keep an eye open for you and let you know if I come across any :D

I bought a Burago one (M Roadster) from a model shop online, it's about 12" long and came in red. Dismantled it, dowsed it in paint stripper and then painted it with a tin I got from BMW. Looks excellent but the only problem was the paint cost more than the model.

 Sad to say---Burago have gone to the wall!!!! Too much competition from the Mass produced chinese factories----great detail and low price.

Your local BMW dealer should have a brochure with the 'official' BMW models. It's quite a substantial brochure and has almost all of the BMW ever produced often in different sizes.

I have a 1/18 Z4 (LHD) which my inlaws ordered from Scotthall in Leeds. It's made by kyosho. It's really well built and is very detailed e.g. Fabric seatbelts, soft top roof and fully functional steering.

Had a look on the Kyosho website but my Japanese is not that great. Most of the text is in Japanese on the English version of the site too.

I bought a Z3 model from the BMW Mobile Tradition range at a dealer for about £20 a few years ago - it's very good, with even screen pillars looking real - most models, particularly the small ones, have pillars which are too thick. I forget the scale, but it's about six inches long.

The range includes M Roadsters, and is availble in many colours - it's worth checking, as on both quality and price they are pretty good.

When I had my 850 I dismanteled it, stripped it and painted it with the correct colour I got from the dealer. I did the interior to match my car too, and even made some small registration plates to stick on. A bit of a labour of love but it looks great and only cost around 25 quid in total. I plan to do a Z3 as soon as I get the time.

It arrived in the post today, a minichamps 1:43. Its not a bad model and the closest colour I have managed to find to Boston Green.

Hi

I am also looking for a model z3m
I bought one on ebay that got damaged in transit a Burago Model 1/18.
We could have been bidding against each other,
I saw your car on ebay and decided not to bid.
I won one recently on ebay sent off the money to France,
and as yet no car
This is the first time something like this has
happened to me on ebay,
mind you its the first time i have gone international

Live and learn

And I'm still looking

I have seen pretty much every other colour variant on ebay but this is the first Green ///MR model I have come across.

I just made the mistake of winning an ///M grill badge without noticing that it is coming from Hong Kong. Fingers crossed it arrives.

Should do, Hong Kong sellers are usually quite good (any feedback?) and the cost of the badge (Floating about the £14 mark i'd say?) is well under the anal customs charging system!

Mine came from Hong Kong no problem, the only thing is though, on mine the bolts weren't long enough so I had to take the grill off and shaved a bit off the back of the section of grill I was attaching the badge to, looks great now though :)

Paul,

Grill badge arrived from Taiwan today, bolts were too short, so had the powerfile out and hacked a few mm off the back of the grille. Now fits perfectly.

I'm going to have to get a Z3 model now....everyone else has one. Spotted one in a glass cabinet in a local BMW dealership a couple of months back. Its a red 2.8, probably 1:48 for about £20. Was going to buy it, then realised it had no door mirrors! I wonder if that's how its meant to be?

Actually, just looking at Mike's now...it is similar to that. Same wheels i believe, but like I said, no wing mirrors :puzzle:
