Polishing perfection

Post by Batchem1 »

For the first time in my life I've spent a whole afternoon polishing a car!
Thought I'd treat the yella fella to the full Meguiar's 3-step treatment.
Can't believe how it's turned out - it really is a show car finish.
Recommend it to anyone - takes a little time but not a whole lot of effort for what looks fantastic.

Agree with Badman, it's against the rules to start a thread like this and not post photos

Well, I'd love to be heading for France tomorrow, but that's not for a few weeks yet.
After all, I'm only just back from Alsace!

For anybody who can't wait until the sun shines, here is the yella fella in the garage.
The 3-stage treatment really has made the original colour much more vibrant.
Will post some more pics as and when the sun comes out!

Thanks, it'll never be immaculate but I feel that I should do what I can to present/maintain it well.
I've done the hood and the paintwork now, have treated the leather but still need to find a product that'll colour/fix a couple of scratches/cracks that show up as white on the black seat bolsters.
I'm ready now to enjoy it ...... off to Norfolk for a week on Wednesday as a dry run for something more challenging next month!

Very good finish indeed, top work :D

Regarding your leather treatment, this stuff seems to be quite highly regarded - Leather repair

Thank you - It is a great looking car and I feel very fortunate to have found it, almost by chance.

Possibly a stupid question, but what is recommended after the Meguiar's 3 stage treatment?
A week ago I had a stunning, shiny car - now it's covered with a week's worth of Norfolk rain, mud and sh*t.
Which of the 3 stages do I need to repeat now?
Thanks.

If the car is covered with heavy dirt/dust I always jetwash (wide spray) that off before washing the car

I've never tried it, perhaps now that I have a new jetwash I should give it a go ;)
