Engine bay color colour for Z3, paint code

Post by fish »

As anyone found an exact match for the white/grey colour of the engine bay on non painted Z3's? Just looking to touch up a few bits......

I did some follow up on a post for BMW 8008M with Supertune Automotive, but they say that's a mazda bumper colour....

They say they can mix any paint for £16 for an aerosol.

Any feedback?

It is a very different colour...

All the info you need should be here: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopi ... =5&t=24516

Note that there are two silvers - Titanium Silver on the facelift cars (built after 04/99) and Arctic Silver on the pre-facelift cars - I do not know if the engine bay is the same colour or not - the above thread relates to a Titan(ium) Silver car.

If you look on the same site at this page you will see underhood colours and it lists 1999 BMW Arctic Silver Light Gray.

I can't find one for Titanium Silver on the later swatches. I don't know which manufacturer the code YF03 in the earlier thread relates to, but Arctic White does not sound right.

The Airo 8008M paint that was the stuff you need has been discontinued. I went round the buoy again recently trying to find a match but with no joy. A paint shop mixed me a half litre of 2-pack using a magic colour match gun thingy. Seems perfect.

Rob,
Hi, yes that sounds "better"...light gray.....just had a look.....had leaned towards the white as its more of a light colour than dark...had not thought of looking at artic silver as was looking for titanium etc...
