QC Personalized plate

Post by Cloz »

Hi,
Next September our gouvernement will open to all personalized plate :-D I don't yet how it they will give plates. But I will, surely, one of the first in line. I would like to be one of the first but I need to be prepared for not having my first choice. It will be a 7 digits maximum plate and they will check for bad taste plates before allowing it. Any ideals......??????
This is what I have found yet;
BMW Z3

Z3 BMW

BMW Z03

Z03 BMW

CLO Z3

Z3 CLO

Z3 1997

BMW 1997

1997 BMW

1997 Z3

Hi Cloz

Is there any restriction on combination of numbers and letters?
For example could high have 1 x 7 letter word without numbers?

CLOZ
CLOZ CAR
ZZZ 333

Also what happens when/if you sell the car.
If you can transfer it to another vehicle the the plate needs to reflect you..
If it stays with the car then it should be BMW or Z related.

if you are going to have a personalised plate then I would make it personalised other than vehicalised.
Why pay a silly amount for BMW Z3, when you have free badges that say the same?

Also the amount of M3 plates I see on 'ordinary' cars where people have swapped them over just don't look right.
Personalised is for life, not just for the period you have the car. but thats my view. :D

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

There is no restriction on the combination. It could be anything.

I do not yet all the informations about keeping the plate or if I could sell it.

In Latvia the most expensive personalized plates could be these:

777
666
VIP
XXX
LUCKY
Many variants of XX, XXIXX, XXIIXX
007 - this could be cool for z3
UK (in our case LV)

Also interesting are number plates like HOMEP which means "number" if you are reading letters like Russian letters (we have a large population of Russians here and most citizens know Russian), 3AKON - "law". Have seen also many "hard to read" number plates something like WMWVWWM.

Some are placing names, initials (I like this style - short and memorable and noone knows what that means) or slogans like NEED4SPD, GOODLIFE, MIRACLE, HACKER but these are not so valuable as mentioned before which can be used by any on any car later.

It is also worth considering the rules in UK... you cant put a reg on a car that would make it look younger than it is.. EG..... All cars in the UK are numbered with regards their year
XX14 XXX (start of 2014)
XX64 XXX (end of 2014)

therefore, you cant put a reg of XX10 XXX on a car that is from 2009 etc... so if you are looking for re-sale value you need to ensure your rules arent the same
Here come the girls.....

Thank you,
I would still have questions about keeping the plate or is it legal to sell it? If I can't transfert the plate to the next owner and I can't sell the plate I would consider having a more personalized plate. In this case I could transfert the plate to my truck :D
