Stub ariel - small item big choices...

Post by Dino D »

So need a new stub ariel.
I get no radio signal in my car with the whip or stub (BMW stub I believe) and don't care for the radio signal anyway, not with the supersprint exhaust!

So I want a tiny short little stubby ariel. Seen some on eBay, saw another member here with a Citreon one.

What do you have and how much was it?
Pics would be great!!

If you don't care about reception get any you like.

I bought small one instead of OEM and I hated luck of reception outside the town (maybe original BMW short unit has better reception) and also I got that I prefer the look of OEM unit. So now I am happy with OEM. Sometimes it takes some time to understand some things :)

I have a KIA Soul ariel and the reception is fine. It is a short stubby ariel and beng a bit thicker than normal stubbys looks ok.

I decide on this 3,5 cm one from eBay. Wasn't keen on the carbon look finish but figured it would be noticeable once on the car as it's so tiny.
Will get a pic up, looks good.

I've seen a US facelift car with smooth black plastic plug over the antenna hole (so no fitting point at all, just smooth). That will be my next mod when I'm bored of this!

I use a Honda Civic aerial. The base of the aerial is slightly bigger than the top of the aerial base on the car, but it looks OK.

Just saw your signature pic now that I'm on the PC. Clearly a man of similar good taste with that colour choice!
