Other wise, its a great unit and so much better than the OEM unit.

I also bought a black USB lead for my iPhone which doesn't stand out as much.
No the light around the volume stick on mine is blue not white.. but yes i did think it was alittle bright at night also.. but at under £90 cant complain and the sound quality makes up for it by miles...
Another nice touch i thought was the chrome ring on the volume dial.. matches the chrome dials in the center concole nicely..

hmm black ipod lead sounds a good idea.. think i may have to get a new blue ipod to match the interior too!! ;-)

I love the centre console colouring and i was thinking of doing this myself before i'd seen your gallery (honest, i was), after seeing yours i think i still will :). Did you do it yourself/any trouble doing it or did hand it over to someone else?

Yep i did it myself and i was so chuffed when it was finished! id go for it...

Bit of advice.. the two pannels that you spray need totally sanding down first as there coated in a rubberised finish and the primer/paint wont take to it at all if you dont... trust me i tryed... but once you have removed all the rubber coating its just a case of sand smooth, tack cloth clean, prime, paint then laquer...

;-)

Very nice!

How did you do it? The clear lights are so expensive that this might be a better option which would match my smoked side repeators and bumper sidelights.

"8 sub install

Post by Z3cade »

Ive always thought the lack of bass for the sterio setup was an issue for me so i decided to tackle it by making a custom sealed sub box to fit an 8" sub in...
I found the only place that wouldnt get in the way was just infront of the passenger seat.... Its the perfect place for a sub as its position uses the footwell to rebound the sound and when sitting in the seat you wouldnt know it was their as its lower than the seat and drops down to the floor...

Image

Its transformed the sound in the zed and now it has all the low end tone and punch that was missing

Your Z looks very smart! I've just purchased my first Z this week and found the Same issue with the sound system being flat! Do you know what sizes those speakers were you changed?

Any help would be brill.

Really like your car, the mods you've done have REALLY improved the look of the car while still making it personal. I've never really been a massive fan of the gills being a different colour, but your silver as opposed to chrome looks great. Even thought went into picking your head unit to keep it with the blue theme.

Great example!

Thanks buddy, it's still getting settled but once I take it in for the 500 mile service and her bolts and nips have been tweaked she'll come around and be purring like a kitten...

Looking good 8-) the only thing i'd change is the chrome side grills, they just stick out too much for my liking but i've never seen a set in the flesh so I could be wrong. Keep up the good work

Jayson F yes there here....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E36-R-BLU ... 3a58480093

For some reason the seller has put the price up... i payed 10.49 + 2.99 p&p.......
But still a good price!!
Look in the sellers shop as they do them in different colours with different stitching....

If you order a set you MUST tell the seller there for a Z3 so they can send you the right size handbrake gaiter... worth every penny....

I think I paid around 80 quid for it at the time off e-bay but I chickened out fitting it as was worried I might cause a leak taking the assembley apart. Did you take it apart yourself? I would be interested to know how easy it is to do and whether there is a gasket fitted.
