Next on the list (after a set of spacers ) is a new set of these..... (The thingy that's got roadster written on it.. lol) The drivers side is really scruffy, will probably paint them same colour as the car, not decided yet... what do you guys think??

Just realised how dirty the inside of the door is... think I might go clean it

I like the matte black touches, and my roadster thingies are looking a bit worn too :(

Need to know, how do you live with the car being THAT low????

I'm bad enough worrying about mine!

Dave

The chrome on the sill finishers does tend to oxidise in places over time where moisture gets under the laquer finish.

Motormec do a set for £80 or so

http://www.motormec.co.uk/z3acc.html

Personally I wouldn't paint them as they will look awful IMHO :(

Tim.

Haha gotta admit I was absolutely bricking it for the first two weeks or so!! Getting in to work is a nightmare because its speed bump heaven :( *scrape*scrape* but all is good , no damage made! A load of people from the VW and Audi scene drive a LOT lower than mine...!! I just need to stay off 'not on the map' crappy back roads lol! Real test will be going up to North Wales on Friday

Thanks for the info Tim!! :)

Great new pic! I recon you should play with the exposure on the nose/headlight of the car to bring back some more of the detail. Or try to match it to the composition of the rest of the car.

Amazing stance.

The pics are a team effort, the other half takes them and I do the editing. He's just got a new camera (Nikon D80) and I've managed to get my hands on his old Nikon D70, so I'm gonna stop being lazy and start taking some myself from now on! :D

I'll have a go at HDR next time I'm in a creative mood :)

Hope you did not mind, but wanted to see how it came out in HDR, used HDRtist Pro for a single image, I expect the results would be amazing with three exposure images, looks good though

Sooo this thread has been dead for a while, because zeddy has been off the road :( sad times.

Long story short, north Wales hates low cars :!:

So this is the solution :D

Getting to work on it Saturday. More pics to follow!!

Yep!! thanks :)

The fronts are designed to sit at stock height when full of air and will drop 120mm

The rear bellow measures 58mm when empty and 196mm when full, so pretty sure i will get an extra 42mm drop from what it sits like at the minute.

Basically it will drop until it hits something I'd imagine :!:

Should be all done by next weekend, weather depending!

Will it move up & down pretty quick or is it a steady pace and do you have numbered settings so you know what height its set at whilst driving ?
Your going to have to work out how low you can go whilst driving so nothing starts scraping.
When parked up I think its going to look great to have it sitting just a few mm off the floor.

It will be running on 1/4" lines so the airflow should be steady.

The management system is the Autopilot V2. It's a pressure based system as opposed to the kits with level sensors, which also benefits from..

8 pre-set heights, you can control each corner manually aswel.
Rise on start feature.
Leak sensor / onboard diagnostics & Compressor wear-down testing
User adjustable backlight on the controller pad
User adjustable compresor kick-on / cut-off pressures
Auto calibration
User adjustable unit of measurement (PSI/BAR)

So, FINALLY after a whole year!!!!!.... my baby is back on the road :)

I'm loving the air install, even though it's not as low as most people go for, I'd rather know I'd still have a car if anything ever went wrong!
The bags give quite a solid ride, but can be quite bouncy :? But it gets me over speed bumps and round the Welsh B-roads without scraping, so can't complain much! And taking passengers isn't as much of an earache as before! :P

I've also installed:
OEM Roll Hoops
H&R ARB's (front & rear)
HEL braided brake lines

Next on the list:
Bigger spacers for the front!!! (at least 25mm each side)
or
Maybe some new rims

Here are some pics, more to follow when/if we get some decent weather!

Soooo I haven't been on here for ages so thought I'd update you! The dare RS's have been off over the winter and finally back on.
Changed the front top mounts and added quite a bit of camber up front, so it's lowered an additional 30mm or so I'd say! More pics to follow after a few more tweeks tonight ;)

Update on zeddy!

The air ride suspension has gone! Decided it wasn't for me. The handling was diabolical, body roll everywhere. Basically felt like driving the Titanic.
Nothing beats good old Coilovers!
So... I've gone back to coilovers and converted the rear to true coilover instead of the old school shock and Spring setup as I always thought the rear let the car down being a bit 'wallowy'

I've opted for GAZ Gold coilovers, fully adjustable and adjustable dampening, they're great. There's a slight knock on the rear due to lack of pre tension in the spring but a phone call to them and they sent out helper springs next day free of charge. No complaints at all. Thoroughly recommend them!

Image

At the moment I have M-contours on as winter wheels but over the next few weeks I will be getting some reinforcement work done to the undercarriage, lowering it to his summer stance and putting on some Rondell style 67 split rims. The plan was to widen them to 12J but because they're quite rare I'm struggling to get hold of dishes that fit! So plan B is to get some drilled next year.

Image

Few other changes - hardtop that I bought off a fellow forum member (Katie)

De-tangoed and de-chromed the headlights, which I think has modernised the car so much!
