It's called a nut, and is generally used to secure items where a stud or a bolt forms the reciprocal half.... I would have thought you knew what a nut is.......

OK....... It looks like the nut which secures the lower end of the rear shock to the trailing arm... and because it's so clean, I might hazard that it isn't located in the engine bay close to any oily substances.... It may be the nut that got away too...??

It's the nut sat on top the right front strut mount for the earth connection..?

I removed my butt-strut & body brace and thought it a shame to use the old nuts for the rear beam.. £1.92 each
