Hi Lee

Would be interested to hear what bits did you get?

Bit of a long story but I managed to get the replacement interior by buying a few cars........
Bought a 2.8 with a full blue and black M interior.
Totally stripped the interior from the 2.8.
Bought another 1.9 to enable me to fit a standard interior to the 2.8. Sold the 2.8 car.
Broke the 1.9.
Bought a silver M roadster which had a red interior.
Yes, you've guessed it, swapped complete M interiors.
Sold silver M roadster, which I think went to Target.
Got my nice red and black interior.

Great fun.

Always good to put a car together how YOU want it - I guess its just like the options part of buying a new car but a bit more satisfying

I can't remember exactly what I got from him because I have been collecting bits for years based on the thought that there are not many RHD Z3M's left so I have a garage full of spares lol but I think I got side grills, rear carpet, boot carpets, brake callipers, mirrors... think i might have got some switches and centre console dials from too.

I thought I would give myself the challenge of putting it back together with the same spec as when it left the factory.
I have been buying bits and sometimes complete cars just to get a certain part.
Some people would say 'He's Nuts' and I probably am but I am enjoying myself in the process.

Yeah that was the plan for the guy who originally had mine and he threw in all the parts when I bought it so I have a garage/loft full of the original M parts... the only real things I am missing now are wheels and quad back boxes. I am not too bothered about the wheels as I like the ones I have but I am starting to get itchy about putting quad pipes back on the rear of it.

Yes, Sometimes I wished that I could get spares from USA but the postage costs and import duty makes buying from the states a bit pricey

There is a fella, RobH, on the Z3M Coupe Forum who looking for a wiring harness for a Z3MR. He's in the process of getting registered for this site, but thought I'd give you a heads up to see if you have a harness available for him.

If not then BMW should have 1 left. Sailorbaz restored his burnt out Z3M a couple of years back and contacted BMW. Apparently on a shelf in the back of their warehouse they had 2 left... check out his thread below:

Out of interest, what did you end up paying? I was around £1300... but felt the car deserved the brand new harness given the low mileage of her and didn't want to risk buying a harness/loom that had had all sorts of stuff wired into it, handsfree kits, phones, stereos, alarms etc etc. Have you received it? It comes in some kit, relays, fuses including fuse box, all the tabs, everything. It's really well put together if somewhat daunting at first.

It will hopefully be in there tomorrow or the following day, it is working out a lot cheaper but I will wait to see if it is correct first. I already bought a brand new loom for a z3m coupe privately and we already fitted it but decided that trying to wire the roof etc would just be a nightmare so scrapped that idea, so I have that loom for sale if anyone needs one.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Can you tell me if it the heater blower or the air con blower?
If you can, part number from www.realoem.com would be good just to make sure.
