just had the new tyres fitted but the young chap said they couldn't do the tracking untill i replaced the near side brake caliper as it had sized ,but before they started to work on my zed I told them that the near side wheel might be hot as I thought I had fixed it but wasn't sure, any way there was not pulling eather way when I was driving so I didn't think it was too bad but I was going to fit a new caliper any way, they fitted the new tyres and said come back when I he'd fixed the brakes, on the way home there was a lot of noise from the tyres handling was wobbly and the stearing wheel was way out , at home I got her up on the lift took the near side wheel off nut noticed the the arrows on the tyre didn't look correct yep that had fitted the right tyre on the left and the left tyre on the right , got a new calier £89 fitted swmbo helped beading the brakes so I'm going back on Monday to inform them that they need to get some training done on their fitters

That is really bad! You should 'Name & Shame' them. Just imagine if that had happened to some poor old lady, or someone who didn't know about such things...? It is a real safety issue.
Anyway, in keeping with the subject of the thread, I bought a new aerial grommet for m Z3 today, as I've been reading the various stories on here about worn out ones causing leaks, & although mine isn't leaking, it's starting to perish, so I will be replacing it. I saw the grommets on eBay, but they were more expensive than BMW main dealer prices, so I went to the dealership to get one.

A (perhaps controversial) led BMW badge. A couple of quid, a quick couple of hours to route the cable through the bootlid to the rear lights. Goes well with the ones I put in the gills a couple of years ago.

The red extended leather dash looks nice. I've just bought one too in black leather.

When are you planning on fitting it ? Can these be fitted without removing the whole dash ?

Not for a while as the whole dash plus centre console needs to come out. Once it's removed it's a pretty simple process to swap over to the extended leather parts.

Wouldn't know as these weren't advertised, spotted them on a car that was for sale and gumtree and the seller took them off and sold them to me. I could have bought the whole car for £750, AC Schnitzer wheels on it also but it was in Scotland which was to far to travel. The hoops didn't quite cost me that much, originally he only wanted £95 for them but I had to offer more to persuade him to get them off the car and post to me. When he heard my offer I think he practically ran to the car and took them straight off, plus the ad for the car disappeared. I wouldn't be surprised if what I paid for them was what he gave for the car as a part ex. Classic case of a seller not knowing what they are selling.

Good skills with the right tools. And hardtop is used, so it's already been fitted - there is a chance that it will not require cutting. Can you point me to Yalden thread please, haven't seen that?

Taxing online direct from SORN assumes that you are taxing from NOW.

I found this out when I retaxed at 2345 on 31 Dec. 15 minutes of VED cost me around £25 :head: . I only found out when my tax renewal came through saying that my tax was due to expire on 30 Nov.

Could have sworn when I did it last year a couple of days before the month end it gave you a choice of either taxing from the current month or from the coming new month. Got to do mine for May 1st, been checking daily to see when it will take payment for 1st May.

Rules are simple.
SORN last day of the Month
re-tax 1st day of the month

As you are always charged the full month from the instant its done, No choices are offered.

Thought I was correct just renewed my tax this morning Sat 29th April on line off SORN and was given the choice of either from 1st April or 1st May. You get the choice on the online site 2 days from the end of the month.
You will need to put a vehicle back on SORN on the last day of the month as entering it as SORN takes it off as Taxed straight away. :)
