Hi all,
I have a small leak from the rocker cover gasket,( its a 2001 1.9 sport), which after a long run leaves a few drips on the floor and some seems to find its way onto the exhaust manifold and makes the
car smell of burnt oil.
My question is, is the gasket just worn or does the rocker cover breath into a filter that may be blocked causing some back pressure to force the oil out?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark

Re: rocker cover oil leak.
It's quite common for the rocker covers to develop a leak. The rubber just shrinks and hardens with age. Crankcase pressure from hot oil vapours etc would normally be "vented" via the little round plastic valve at the rear of the inlet manifold system. If blocked you would experience running problems and higher oil usage.
Re: rocker cover oil leak.
Common issue. Buy a new gasket set and install. If you haven't done it before watch a few Youtube vids. It is easy.
