Part identification

Post by DanHolman »

Hi all,

I'm swapping out my pcv valve. To get proper access it looks like I'll need to disconnect the fat braided hose connected to the back of the intake manifold near the red dipstick handle. If It is seized on I will have to cut it. The part is on back order at BMW.

Does anyone know what type of hose this is, so I can buy some elsewhere if necessary?

Thanks

Dan

I assume you mean the vacuum hose. Is it seized on, or are you just worrying in case it is? There's no reason why it would be.

It may budge. If it won't I'll need to cut. The car is 19 years old. It's non uncommon to have to cut them off.

It's just a vacuum hose, so not subject to hot water/oil etc. Mine came off really easily recently.
