Mine totally standard too. However I am thinking about fitting a Simota carbon air box. For about the same money as a Remap, it can increase BHP by 7-10 or even 16-32 depending upon who one listens to! I would be interested to hear from anyone who has a Simota fitted to a Z3m and particularly if the...

Z3M S50 Remap by Evolve

Gary, Good to meet you and Bill, Murf etc. at Evolve. Trust you don't mind me adding some input here for my S50 Z3M that might be useful to others. My understanding of the issue relating to the barometric pressure on the day was that the input (to Evolve's software program) of a false pressure readi...

Ferdinand - thanks for your comments. The car came with the spoilers as an e bay purchase nearly 4 years ago. Took me 2 years to find one in Imola Red after reading the Crimson Tide artical in Total BMW mag. in Dec. 2004. Not to everyone's taste, I know, but I've grown to like the spoilers and for m...

Thanks, Jonttt.

Yes, new PS2's fitted 265x35x18 to rear with the 12mm spacers. Also had to fit 5mm spacers at front to give 2mm clearance over my H&R Coilovers.

Indeed pipes ex trackday grime - overlooked!

PS: Struck lucky at Protyre - £129 each fitted!

Which brake pads for Spa trackday in June?

Will my standard pads be OK? Or should I change for something harder and if so what make/type is recommended? Front only or front and rear? I have just resolved similar problem. Firstly do as Mike Fishwick suggests, use thin (about 10mm) strips of paper to check along length of seal for gaps between glass and seal. Hardtop adjustment lock nut 'special' tool

BMW want £25! for a special spanner to undo the adjusting 'nut' that allows for raising and lowering the rear hardtop mounts.

Please can anyone suggest an alternative means of sucessfully undoing and tightening this 'nut'? (I cannot bear to give BMW £25 for a 'bent piece of metal!) :?:

Hard top front corner rattles and whistles cure. (Z3)

Problem – Whenever I drove over a bump in the road there was this ‘thump’ (rattle is putting it mildly) from the front offside corner of the hard top. At speed, anything over 40mph, there was a whistling noise coming from the same location. At motorway cruising speeds I was in fear of the top sudden...

BMW have quoted me £123 for screen plus £112 to fit. They say it is much more difficult to DIY than you think! Not simply a case of zipping the new one in place! Does anyone have experience of fitting one themselves? Is there a special technique involved? I'd rather DIY and save £112! Any hints or t...
