Re: April Meet - Podium Place in Newbury?
Nope. We are away on a Porsche Club trip! My May Saturdays are 4th and 25th and that's it I'm afraid. Are these any good? If not, don't let me spoil it for everyone else if their diaries work for a date I can't do. Sorry. Just getting busy.

Hi Chaps, Sorry for the slow response - pretty full on at the moment. Please count me as a YES for this idea please. At the moment all of my April Saturdays could do a breakfast, though I am out late on Fridays 5th and 12th, so wouldn't want to be too early the following day. I am guessing it would ...

Felix is indeed correct. I had cause to research this with my old M3 Sport Evo. The car was a Cat D under the old designations (stolen and recovered before I bought it) and carried that throughout its time with me. I sold it in 2009 and it was exported by the buyer to an excited new owner in Spain. ...

Re: True or false ?
I'd go with false. My understanding was that the demand for production facilities for the 'new' E36 was so high that the Z1 became a casualty. Its production line was slow and inefficient in terms of use of space and number of cars + profit per car that it did turn out. The 3-er by comparison was bu...

Hey Tony I have had this on my old CSL, which is as you say a question of drilling out the two rivets. Not got there on the Z1 yet as no need. However, from what you describe you are able to get it out and get to the spring. Is there anything to be gained by packing the spring end of things so the s...

I'm late to this one, as I am to most things these days, but it looks a cracking little car to me. Paint and interior in great condition. I think I might have changed the brake fluid before the photos were shot though. That looks less like Chardonnay and more like Port! The car gets my vote though :-)

Hi Jamal, I replaced the oil cooler pipes on my E36 M3 a while back and, apart from the connections to the cooler itself being pretty crusty, it was easy enough to get it out and freed. You wouldn't need the bumper off, just the undertray. I would replace pipes and cooler together for peace of mind ...

Yup. It's quite a big exhaust system and takes some heating up. While it is warming, your hot exhaust gasses cool and condense, rather like a domestic condensing boiler and you get the whispy steam as a result. I have had a head gasket go in an oily way on a car (not my Z1) and it is like a Formula ...

Hi Alex,
It could be something as simple as one of the take-offs being bent in a different direction or longer/shorter? If the repair kit is common then it would imply the internals must be very similar or identical. Is it the lhd E30 pump you’re looking at?

Hi Pat, The Porker inevitably takes a bit more coolant, with its triple radiators and lots of water pipes from back to front layout (my 911 runs with no coolant and never gets hot :D ). Following the manual involves removing the bottom hose, which comes across the front of the cam belt cover and does rather get in the way of the job.
