Re: C110+ Scanner Software

I bought a C110 that was a fake, no updates Bought another for a little more money and that can be updated. Well that’s interesting. I still haven’t plugged it in yet but I re-read the ad on eBay and it said in red letters this can’t be updated via the internet. The whole thing is a typical Chinese...

Re: Engine Mgt Light (2.2i)

I had a misfire once when the car had sat for months
The battery was flat so I jumpstarted it and let it idle while I gave it a wash.
It developed a misfire so I checked each coil pack in turn to find the dead one.
Ordered six new ones and changed them all.

Boge or Sachs were used OEM, I’ve used the part number on eBay and found OEM things.

ECP or GSF have listed Boge and Sachs in the past.

While you are doing the shocks you should do the top mounts also.

I’ve found oils cheaper than ECP (even with their discount) on eBay

Many manufacturers spec their oil, so just looking for 5w/30 isn’t enough.

Hi Bertie

I used to use tyre sealants (Ultraseal) and found it ok, did I get a puncture ? Who knows.

I stopped using it when I started to get a wheel wobble, the gel had set more or less solid after a period of non use.

Really hard to say, check any possible listings on all internet sales sites.

Biggest factor is rarity although they don’t seem to be on the Collectors radar just yet.
Low mileage one owner would be extra rare and deserve a premium in my opinion.

Re: Axel Stands

Axle stands got their name years ago when cars had axles. It is recommended to use the car jacking points at the side of the car for the stands. One of the main problems is finding a trolley jack to fit under the jacking points. One remedy I use for this, pieces of 225 x 50 wood and drive the car on...

It’s a comms problem between the cluster and Ecu, mine always surfaces when the weather becomes damp, usually clearing itself when the car is warm inside on subsequent starts.
